Prolific and award-winning fashion designer Arthlene Legair will present her latest collection on the runway at the next Couture Fashion Week in New York.The fashion show will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday September 17, 2012 in the iconic Grand Ballroom of the world-famous Waldorf-Astoria.
Arthlene Laudat Legair, designer and CEO of LeGair Brand Ltd. of Columbus, Ohio, is a native of the Caribbean island of Dominica. She is a talented seamstress, stylist and the wardrobe designer forAwalkonwater Entertainment LLC; her design is on the cover and also featured in the movie The Best Supporting Daddy. Ms. Legair’s designs reflect her international background and include formal, couture, and business attire for teens and adults. She also creates her own unique accessories.
Ms. Legair’s designs have been featured in numerous fashion shows, publications and events including the C.O. tour of Columbus, Miss Black Ohio, Hair Meets Fashion, International Fellowship Women’s Conference, I Wear African, Unveiled Dreams, ABEC’S Small Business Review, The Conscious Voicemagazine, Channel 10 News, Girlfriends’ Talk magazine, Sparks magazine (UK), 614 magazine, at MIT University in Boston, and many more.
Ms. Legair won the Top Designer title for Nellie’s Catwalk for Kids and the I Am Fashion event at OSU. Her gown with over 650 peacock feathers was featured in African Vibes magazine in 2009, and she presented her collection at the African Vibes magazine fashion show in Los Angeles in 2010. She has shown her designs on the runway at the Kouture Magazine Event in New York, Gospel Fest in Miami, Fashion Week Columbus, the Ohio State Fair, Blazing the Runway, the Highball Fashion Show, Coats 4 Children charity event, the Fashion Art Board of Columbus‘ “High Fashion on High,” and Caribbean Fashion Extravaganza 2 in New York. She also presented her collection in London in 2011. Ms. Legair is a winner of the Increase CDC Micro Entrepreneur Community Choice Award and the Increase CDC Micro Entrepreneur Retail Award. She is a favorite designer of Hollywood actress Tangi Miller, gospel recording artist Lois Commodore, and others.
